A faerie, which is sometimes used interchangeably with the term "fairy," but at other times also implies a broader and more diverse category of magical beings, is a mythical creature or spirit often associated with various forms of folklore and fantasy. These enchanting beings possess supernatural or preternatural qualities that lend themselves to tales and imagination.

This particular piece serves as a personal challenge piece for me, as I use it to observe how my art progresses throughout the years in my illustration career. I created the first artwork of this evolution more than six years ago and have been recreating the piece periodically, usually endeavoring to produce at least one new version every year.

I particularly enjoy engaging in this practice because it not only demonstrates my progress over time in my art-making journey but also highlights the evolution of my techniques. I have changed art applications between my most recent rendition and the original, so it is especially fascinating to see how the qualities of my work have transformed over time.
