The Paw Project
The Paw Project educates the public about declawing, a surgical procedure that amputates an animal's toes at the last joint, causing long-term complications. Declawing is illegal in many countries, and is often used to keep big cats as pets. Since 2000, veterinarians have performed reparative surgery on lions, tigers, cougars, leopards, jaguars, and domestic cats, resulting in relief and increased mobility. The Paw Project advocates for legal bans and facilitates reparative surgery for declawed cats.

This particular project was an assignment for my advertising class that provided an opportunity for us to explore and showcase our skills. The assignment was designed to help our teacher identify our individual strengths and weaknesses in the realm of advertising, as well as to uncover where our true passions lie within this field.
For my project, I chose to create a visually engaging Instagram carousel post featuring quick facts about the controversial practice of cat declawing. As a dedicated and passionate cat mom, I feel strongly about advocating for the end of cat declawing, making this a personal and meaningful topic for me.
I wanted to challenge myself with this project by incorporating cohesive imagery across the multiple slides, creating a sense of flow that helps everything feel interconnected. My goal was to subconsciously encourage viewers to scroll through the entire carousel, increasing their exposure to more informative content on the important issue of cat declawing.
